Contribuciones Nursery Guidelines The nursery is staffed by volunteers, mainly the parents of our young children and our youth (5th grade and older). The following guidelines for volunteers and parents have been developed by our Nursery Coordinator in order to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our children while our adults attend worship. These guidelines are reviewed at the beginning of every year by the Children’s Ministry. Wedding Information and Guidelines The following information and guidelines are set forth by First Lutheran Church to help couples have an orderly, worshipful wedding and to help them prepare for a life-long relationship with each other. As you prepare to become husband and wife, may God bless your preparations, your wedding, and the commitment you are making to one another. Funeral Guidelines The guidelines inside were crafted whilte Saint Andrews was still an L.C.A. congregation and has served them well since then. They are presently in the process of updating this and will provide us with an updated copy when it is completed. Join us in Ministry We live, however, as more than recipients. We are called to be involved in God's activity of love and care for humankind and all of God's creation. We are dignified by being asked by God to participate in God's purpose of love and care. When we do participate, we receive a new dimension of grace, for we actually meet our living Lord in the needs of others. Guidelines for New Member Mentoring Your time and commitment to this outreach is vital to the strength of our congregation. The central goal of Mentoring New Members is to help them become active in and committed to the ministry and mission of Calvary. This goal can be reached through the following activities: Some Thoughts about Being "Companions" Our global mission relationships take time to grow into true accompaniment. That is ... we walk with our partner seeking to step at their pace ... seeking to see and understand their present context. Goals of the Sister Parish Program in El Salvador Goals of the Sister Parish Program are: To grow in faith and make manifest our unity in Christ through sharing experiences of faith and Christian living. To deepen the commitment to justice peace of both churches through greater understanding of each other's reality. To provide a network of concerned friends to advocate for Salvadoran church workers should they be in danger. To build up the reign of God here on earth as it is in heaven through support of small community-based sustainable development projects. Guidelines for the Companion Synod Relationship We encourage congregations to be in consultation with the Global Mission Board regarding all plans, arrangements and decisions involving the companion synod relationship. We discourage individual congregations from acting independently. Guidelines for Companion Congregations We believe that the blessings we will experience as a synod and as congregations as we form congregation-to-congregation relationships are: that we will all be renewed and strengthened in our witness to our Lord Jesus. That we will both give and receive encouragement in our work, our congregational practices, and in our prayer life. That we will be strengthened and inspired by each other in our callings as a "sent people in daily life. that each congregation will learn more about how the Church lives and works outside our own countries. Mentor Pastor Guidelines The Lay School of Ministry was established to prepare theologically articulate lay persons for ministry in daily life. This process of preparation intends to draw upon the resources and the partnership existing between synod, congregation, and the Lay School of Ministry. A key component is the relationship between participants in the Lay School and a pastor who agrees to serve as mentor during the two years of study. |
