Contributions Family Blessing For Use in Weddings This blessing was originally written for a couple that has two children, one from a precious relationship and one from their union. The blessing took place at the center of the service, just after the couple had said their vows and exchanged rings. Prior to the service, the couple had purchased rings for the children (which the six year-old proudly showed off to people at the reception). Other tokens could be given - a different couple had purchased pendants for their boy and girl children. This blessing was significant and meaningful to both the adults and the children. Wildflower Meditation - Wild Oats or Merrybells Rev. Dr. Loretta Kuse and Dr. Hildegard Kuse have crafted a set of wonderful devotions based around wild flowers. Each one also comes with an informative file about that flower as well. You'll share the inspiration these sisters have found in nature and the scriptures. To locate a complete list of the devotions in this series, all found on this site, please search for "Wildflower Devotions Index" to locate the file that lists all the different flower devotions available. This devotion is inspired by Wild Oats or Merrybells (Uvularia sessilifolia). Pastor's Page - Listening Posts A series of "LISTENING POST" meetings are designed to gather members together, eat together, and talk about faith in life at the Church. The atmosphere will be set to encourage lively conversation, the hope is that heartfelt information will be shared, and the dream is that we will discover some core truths about the Church. Communing All the Baptized The Church delights in welcoming all of the baptized people of God to the communion table. "Admission to the Sacrament is by invitation of the Lord, presented through the Church to those who are baptized." This is a quote from The Use of the Means of Grace, a document produced by the ELCA that is a wonderful resource for congregational study. Communion Participation Bylaws Participation in Holy Communion shall be open to confirmed members of this congregation and to those not yet confirmed, beginning with the fifth grade following appropriate instructions, upon recommendation of the pastor(s), and to individual members of other congregations who accept the Lutheran teaching in regard to Holy Communion. |
