These are thoughts that I imagine go through my daughter, Kari’s head as she pulls the car out of the driveway, and goes where she needs to be. Ministry in Daily Life - Ideas from ELCA Congregations Here are a number of ideas about ways congregations can nurture ministry in daily life, as reported in a survey conducted by the Division for Ministry of the ELCA. These suggestions are not just theoretical. The congregations have used them in practice. they occur within existing congregational structures and programs (e.g., confirmation, worship, adult education) and are not "add-ons." Neil MacQueen, author of Computers, Kids and Christian Education, is the owner of that company and he's a wealth of info. He and his team carefully search for all the best software for kids and youth The Ladder Program “ Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) Part of that training is giving our children spiritual building blocks to form a solid foundation. Our Ladder Program was designed and revised to offer students and parents some of the important pieces to help in that construction project Advent Class Projects A list and description of Sunday School class projects that can be done during the Advent season. Included are individual class projects as well as projects that include the entire congregation as well. Pennies for Bibles On October 6, 2002, the Sunday School of East Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Amery, challenged the congregational family to a Pennies for Bibles Challenge. Each week the pennies were weighed and a report was given on the following Sunday as to which group was currently in the lead. Under a special program of the American Bible Society, a Bible costs only $4, so the Penny Challenge bought over 43 Bibles to be sent to those in need all over the world. Bible Verses Memory Book Coming to church and Sunday School each week and learning these memory work assignments will help your child's growth in faith. We encourage you to take this opportunity to help your child study and learn the memory work; remember, they are "treasures" both for this life and forever. We see this as many of our senior members with failing eyesight treasure, remember and recite verses they learned as children.
