Contributions Flags in the Worship Space: A Theological Perspective The presence of our nation's flag in the worship space stirs deep passions for many people. Our nation's flag reminds us of the freedom that we enjoy and the price that many have paid to protect that freedom. Campus Center Ministry - Christus Rex, University of North Dakota CHRISTUS REX LUTHERAN CAMPUS CENTER at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks centers its life together around a ministry of Word and Sacrament. The community gathers for worship each Sunday morning and evening when school is in session. Holy Communion always is celebrated at these Sunday services. We welcome all God's people to celebrate with us the Word proclaimed and Sacraments shared as we live out our baptism within the community of UND. Transition from Old to New Sanctuary Our congregation used this transition service as we moved from our old sanctuary to the new sanctuary. At the worship service, there were remarks about the memories the old building held - all of the baptisms, marriages, funerals, and events that had been held in this sanctuary, followed by a litany of Thanksgiving. The choir sang, "Thanks be to Thee"... Dedication Celebration (Church/Sanctuary) Dear brothers and sisters in Christ: We have come together today to dedicate this building to the glory of god and for the praise of His name. Let us then offer up this space, as well as ourselves, so that all people can be invited and welcome to come together as God's family to Worship the Lord, to Grow in Faith, to Care for Others, and to Share the good News of Jesus Christ. |
