Contributions Preschool Art Going to your first day of preschool can be an intimidating experience. The building is huge compared to your home and its easy to feel lost and afraid. The preschool at First Lutheran has a creative way to help their preschoolers comfortable finding their new room. Rotational Sunday School Hallway Art Why should beautiful educational art be limited to stained glass windows in sanctuaries? The Sunday School of First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire have turned the hallways into a visual Bible. To see some of the art click on the links below. Confirmation Art Congregations expect their confirmands to demonstrate some familiarity with the key parts of Luther's Small Catechism and the Biblical story. Pastor Duane Pederson encourages his students to demonstrate that knowledge in a variety of ways. One student chose to create a wall mural in one of their rotational Sunday School rooms. Teaching/Learning with 5th Graders preparing for First Communion This exercise has been used with fifth graders who are preparing to receive the Holy Eucharist for the first time. While it might well be used in a variety of other connections, this particular setting seems especially well suited for reasons that will be discussed. |
